Community update — SPIT, redesign and the bright future of LAMA
this is not an easy announcement to make, because we know that you have been waiting for the launch of SPIT which should have taken place in a few days. The truth is that the product is ready, but we have decided, with good reason, although with a heavy heart, to postpone the launch.
WHY
After a long internal discussion with the team, with the collaborators and with all the people who are helping us to carry out this project, taking care of the community and trying to promote it with the means and skills available, we have come to the conclusion that the efforts made so far have not been enough. Llama has not reached the level of media exposure it deserves and this has resulted in a progressive dump by investors and a slow but inexorable decline in TVL. To this, we must add a situation of uncertainty and market instability, due to certain manipulative tweets of certain famous people (does the name Elon mean anything to you?). Therefore, we have identified a strategy to be implemented immediately.
We have to run for cover and we have to do it now.
WHAT
A series of targeted and rapid interventions are needed to improve what LlamaSwap is at the moment:
➀ A more professional look for the dApp. No, don’t worry, the Llamas are here to stay, but we are the first to argue that the current look is amateurish at best. The graphic restyling was already on the roadmap, but at low priority. We have reassessed the importance of this aspect and it is now a top priority. We need to make it clear to new users and investors that this is a serious project and that we are investing enormous amounts of time, money and personal commitment into it. And, you know, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but then …
➁ The marketing activities done so far have proved to be in vain and just a waste of money. An organic marketing activity is necessary, made by professionals who can support us and help us achieve the goal, avoiding wasting the already limited resources
➂ This project needs funds. For this reason, we have decided that the launch of SPIT will take place in a public sale event within LlamaSwap. The exact details will be the subject of a dedicated article which will follow shortly, but in the meantime, know that the sale will guarantee allocation to all participants. For this to be successful though, it is essential that the aforementioned activities are carried out first, in order to create the right hype and guarantee the desired result, that is to raise sufficient funds to be allocated to:
➛ further marketing, promotion, partnership activities
➛ obtain at least one other audit from one of the most reputable firms (eg. Certik, HashEx, etc.)
➛ expand the development team
➛ keep developing the product by implementing all the features we have in mind
HOW
We have already moved to make contact with a team of experts in crypto organic marketing, to be supported immediately with the promotion activity. In the meantime, we are selecting graphic designers for the restyling of the site, to then be able to create sponsored videos on YouTube, TikTok and other promotional channels. In addition, we will create a series of short video tutorials to guide users in the world of LlamaSwap and we will give greater emphasis to the security and transparency aspects on which we’ve been focusing all our efforts since the beginning.
WHEN
Immediately. Really.
The first tangible results will hopefully arrive soon. After that, we will launch SPIT in style, with a community that has grown in the meantime and with the right enthusiasm. The last thing we want is to launch the feature we’ve been working on for weeks now and see it fail miserably without the adoption we believe it deserves.
Having to postpone SPIT was a painful choice, because we care about this project as much as we care about the community that has grown around it. We are a small community, so much so that direct relationships have also been created with many members. We have always tried to be present in the chat and to answer your questions, despite the incredible amount of work we have done and we are always doing behind the scenes. We know this announcement may be a disappointment to some. But we prefer to disappoint now, only to come back stronger, more determined and more prepared than ever.
